When I found out I was pregnant, I spent a lot of time making my registry. Never having kids before, I had no idea what to put on my list. I spent a lot of time researching and talking to other mothers about what I should add. Now that my son is here, here is a list of what I found most useful.
1. Frida nose aspirator : for the those snotty days.
2. Touchless thermometer : painless thermometer, just hold close to baby’s head.
3. Moby wrap carrier : baby and my favorite way to stay close and carry while he was little.
4. Bob Stroller : while it may seem expensive, it is well worth the money. Hands down the best stroller easily glides over concrete, dirt, and even rock paths. Steering is so easy, I can do it one handed. Depending on carseat, you may have to get an attachment to install carseat at first while baby can’t really sit in a stroller in those first months.
5. The best nursing pillow : I wouldn’t have made it without this nursing pillow. Not only does this help your posture, it also snaps around you for security while your baby feeds.
6. Boppy Pillow : while also useful for breastfeeding, I found this more useful for baby when I needed a break from having him directly on me. That being said, you should never leave baby alone in it, but it was great for sitting baby next to me while I am on the couch and for tummy time later on when baby is a little bigger.
7. Alvababy Reusable diapers : If your mom is looking to use reusable diapers, I highly recommend this brand as it is affordable and works great. Though, I will also add a link to additional inserts for the diapers, as the ones this comes with aren’t great for against baby’s skin if they decide to double up.
8. Charcoal bamboo inserts : for in Alvababy reusable diapers. If interested, I will soon have a blog on my methods for using Alvababy diapers and my methods on how to clean and maintain them.
9. For gas and stomach upset : I highly recommend this brand of gripe water and simethicone drops to help baby and mom and dad deal with the beginning of baby’s developing stomach and digestive tract.
10. Bassinet : this is a co-sleeper bassinet. It allows easy access to mom or dad throughout the night, while keeping baby in a safe sleep zone. Many people jump on buying a crib, but more than likely mom and dad will want baby in the same room as them for up to the first year. This is the one I have, though any co-sleeper bassinet will work.
There are plenty of other gift options, but these are definitely the top ten that I use. More than likely the parents will get more than enough of swaddles, blankets, and clothes. If you need to find something less expensive, I would highly recommend some books or sensory toys. If you do decide to get clothes, I would recommend sizing up, as the baby will probably receive more infant clothes than needed and will quickly grow out of them.
I hope this helps, and thanks for stopping by my blog!
